OUR PEOPLE

North Sydney

Run by
students.
Supported
BY AFES.

North Sydney is a city campus of mostly health-science students but we also get other degrees studying there. EOC grows every year and is a very active and well known club. But it is not so big that you can’t still be known and known by others! You will often find us hanging out on the fake grass or by the couches near the cafeteria. We also enjoy spending time with the Strathfield students for our social events, and at our combined Cross-Training and conferences. If you see us in the wild, come say hi. EOCers love to welcome new people and hang out with each other.

Jazz Dawson
Student President

I am currently in my 4th year of studying a Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation)/Bachelor of Laws. I am passionate about others knowing and serving Christ. I’ve been a part of EOC now for over 2 years and have enjoyed our Mid Year Conference the most. In my free time, you will either find me reading a book or playing sport.

Annika Bowden
Vice-President

Hi! I am in 3rd year, studying a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. Being part of EOC has been awesome in equipping me to read the Bible for myself, and to understand the importance of telling people about Jesus. Being part of weekly activities provides a space at uni to meet with other Christians, and to encourage one another to keep following Jesus. A highlight each year is going on camps with EOC, and other AFES groups.

Rebecca Wong
Secretary

Hey! I’m Rebecca, a third year physiotherapy student. I love the community of EOC and how people encourage each other which has helped me grow in confronting difficult questions about my faith!

Sienna Johnson
Treasurer

Hi, I’m Sienna, I’m studying nursing at ACU and I’m one of the EOC’ers you may see (or hear, cause I’m really loud and a professional yapper) on campus. I really love being a part of the uni ministry here, the community is so warm and welcoming! I especially love how I’ve grown so much in my faith, my convictions, and my confidence to do evangelism since joining EOC. God has blessed me greatly through the fellowship and training here! If you see me around, come and say hi, I’m always keen for a chat 😃

EOC is a safe place where I’ve made amazing friends, grown in my understanding of the Bible, and where God has deepened my love for him as I continue learning the depth and breadth of his love for me in Jesus Christ. It’s also a wonderful place to bring friends who are curious about Jesus, a safe place to be on a hard day, and a great joy to be a part of.

EOC has provided a welcoming environment through which I have grown in my faith, been reminded of the importance of evangelism, and made friends outside of my faculty.

Going through the book of Romans for both the weekly Bible Talks and Growth Group made everything connect really well, especially all the conversations we had around righteousness which helped with my understanding of God’s grace.

I feel EOC is a fantastic community! It has been a great space to meet students from other courses and grow in my faith as a Christian.

What if uni isn’t just about your degree, but discovering something bigger? You don’t have to figure it out alone. Come join our group, meet other students who are asking the same big questions, explore Jesus together, and find friendships and support that make the journey easier. We’d love to see you get connected and be part of what’s happening.
